North Carolina Press Club named me Communicator of Achievement in 2007. I also received that award from the Illinois Woman's Press Association in 1995. Both groups are affiliates of National Federation of Press Women, the organization that in 2007 gave me an award for a photojournalism article I wrote on home schooling. I am a member of North Carolina Press Club, National Federation of Press Women, Heart of Carolina Romance Writers and Romance Writers of America. I was awarded RWA-PRO status in 2009.
